About the Item

This Plein Sud piece from the 2000s is a structured corset-cut top worked in a napped leather consistent with suede. The silhouette is closely fitted through the torso, with pronounced vertical seam panelling that articulates the bust and draws in sharply at the waist before flaring slightly at the hip. The neckline is a deep, rounded scoop, and the top is sleeveless with broad, substantial shoulder straps. All raw edges — the neckline, strap edges and hem — are finished with a delicate loop-stitch trim in tonal dark thread, lending a refined handcraft quality to an otherwise utilitarian construction. The centre-front closure is a single-breasted placket fastened with a column of small tonal buttons, seven in total, stitched with visible buttonholes. The back is cut in a corresponding scoop, mirroring the front neckline, with the same seam panelling running the length of the body. Size M (IT42/FR38) — Corresponds to a French 38 / Italian 42.
