About the Item

A charming vintage Chinese pickling jar with a softly rounded, traditional form and beautifully aged surface. The vessel features a warm olive-green and earthy brown glaze, complemented by subtle tonal variations and areas of natural wear that reflect its age and character. Fine horizontal texturing runs across the upper portion of the body, adding depth and a tactile quality to the otherwise simple silhouette. A distinctive hand-painted or incised decorative motif adorns the lower front, while the wide, rounded rim gives the jar a strong, sculptural presence. Originally intended for traditional food preservation and pickling, this vintage vessel works beautifully today as a decorative object, lending an authentic sense of history and rustic sophistication to contemporary, wabi-sabi, and modern organic interiors. Vintage Chinese ceramic, circa 20th century. The surface displays natural variations, patina, glaze irregularities, and signs of age consistent with its vintage character.
