About the Item

Antique wine press from Hungary. Note the heavy wrought iron bolts, bands and turning mechanism. Crafted in oak, the central "cage" that would hold the fruit is not fixed in place, so buyer can adjust as desired. The wood shows much distress through years of use, including cracks, gouges, nicks, signs of old wormholes (dried and no longer active) throughout. A name is written on both inner vertical sides, with the date of 1932 on one of them. Restored, waxed and stable/sturdy. All nicks, cracks, scratches, gouges, distress around the feet and signs of wear are age related and in no way impact the strength, function nor appeal of this old wine or fruit press.
