About the Item

Hand-forged in France during the 1600s, this iron door knocker features a backplate comprised of a shapely series of scrolls, barbs, and subtly pierced roundels. A thick pendant striker hangs beneath the arabesque, attached by a robust hinge. The striker contacts the rounded head of an attaching bolt, allowing any caller to make their presence known. Our 17th-century forged iron door knocker would make quite an impression on any entry door.
