About the Item

A vibrant, salvaged architectural ensemble sourced directly from New Orleans, comprising doors, shutters, and window panels that once formed part of a traditional Crescent City façade. These pieces reflect the playful, French Creole-influenced vernacular common to mid-century storefronts, shotgun homes, and courtyard structures across the French Quarter and surrounding neighborhoods. The set includes arched and square multi-pane window frames, louvered shutter doors, and two full-height decorative doors-each painted in layered pink, red, and cream tones characteristic of postwar New Orleans architecture, when color was used to enliven aging residential blocks and commercial corridors. Ornamental elements such as scroll-carved lower panels, shaped transom openings, and board-and-batten shutters echo the eclectic mix of Creole, Victorian, and Caribbean influences that defined much of the city's built environment from the 1930s through the 1960s. French 19th C. Raised-Panel Wood Doors 'A Set of two Single Doors'

French 19th C. Raised-Panel Wood Doors 'A Set of two Single Doors'

Located in Atlanta, GA

A French set of two doors, both singles, from the 19th century. These antique doors from France, though not meant to match up together (as in a pair of French-style doors) but are two near-identical single doors. Each door is comprised of two panels, with top being near-square in shape, over the lower rectangular raised panel. The new custom finish has a soft color palette of gray, blue and green hues. Both sides of the doors are paneled and painted, so these are a great option to place between living spaces. As with all of our doors, we recommend that a professional contractor be used for installation, and that our dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly. This set of 2 single French doors...
