About the Item

A striking pair of English brass hall porter doorstops, each featuring a finely modelled fox head beneath an elongated handle fashioned in the form of a traditional riding crop. Inspired by late Victorian and Edwardian sporting designs, the substantial fox heads display expressive features and textured fur detailing, complemented by the warm aged patina of the brass. The tall riding-crop handles allow the doorstops to be conveniently positioned without stooping and reinforce their distinctive English country house and equestrian character. Heavy and functional as well as decorative, each doorstop weighs approximately 1.8 kg. The pair would make particularly handsome additions to a country house, entrance hall, library or equestrian-inspired interior.
