About the Item

An eye-catching antique English Georgian style fireplace with a striking old yellow paint finish and dog leg opening lined with egg and dart moulding. Though made at the beginning of the 20th century, this striking reclaimed pine fire surround is a delight of earlier 18th century craftsmanship. Applied composition detail highlights include a centre tablet with a sunburst angel mask, scrolling corbel style jambs and a sweeping edged frieze further embellished with fruiting foliage swags. Designed to be fitted with marble slips, this beautiful Georgian style fire surround is certain to draw attention in any setting.
