Originally created to address the needs of compact living spaces, this fireplace's elegant simplicity adapts seamlessly to both small and large interiors. Its design is inspired by traditional English built-in fireplaces, reimagined through Coderch's modernist lens. The result is a sculptural, three-dimensional, yet "transparent" form that commands attention while harmonizing with its surroundings. This balance of form and function makes the "Capilla" a timeless masterpiece, reflective of Coderch’s architectural philosophy. This particular example belongs to the original Polinax production, fabricated entirely in metal sheet and celebrated for its craftsmanship and innovative approach. The model was awarded the prestigious Delta de Oro by ADI/FAD in 1964, cementing its place in design history.
