An exceptional original and timeless French Louis XIII period antique fireplace surround from the 17th century, carved in hard limestone with a strong architectural presence and a deeply authentic rustic character. This one-of-a-kind stone fireplace mantel was created for a generous firebox and is particularly suitable for large fireplace openings, including contemporary large firebox solutions such as Isokern. The design is sober, powerful and timeless, with a broad horizontal fronton, straight architectural lines and solid jambs with an expressive sculptural movement. The composition reflects the restrained elegance of the Louis XIII period, where strength, proportion and material honesty define the beauty of the piece. The surface combines hammered texture, chamfered edges and refined carved details, creating a remarkable visual contrast between raw stone and careful craftsmanship.
