About the Item

An eye-catching mid-19th-century French boiserie panel retains its original pale French blue paint, gently worn to reveal the wood grain and character beneath. The panel’s carved molding features symmetrical scrollwork with a double peak at the top and a shaped bottom edge, details that bring rhythm and softness to its architectural form. It was salvaged from a provincial interior and offers a beautiful balance of structure and patina. Whether hung independently or incorporated into cabinetry or custom wall paneling, it lends timeless texture and unmistakably French character to any space. Found in France, mid-19th century. Made of solid wood. The original pale blue paint is worn in areas. Wear consistent with age and use, wonderful character and patina; no structural damage. Approximately 55” W x 45” H x 1.125” D.
