About the Item

A great set of cathedral stainglass windows in beautiful original frames with molded architectural details .. We have left a carrying frame for now . Each window features a large circular upper panel centered by a four-petal floral medallion, surrounded by geometric panes in soft green, blue, amber and cream glass. The lower sections are composed of repeating elongated geometric forms, creating a particularly strong architectural pattern. The glass includes a combination of translucent coloured glass, textured amber glass and applied circular glass jewels. The original painted wood window frames retain considerable age and surface wear. At approximately 77 inches high, these are substantial architectural windows and would work particularly well incorporated into an interior wall, doorway, room divider or architectural installation. The pair retains the irregularities and surface character expected from early stained glass, including oxidation to the leadwork, wear to the painted frames and evidence of age. Currently supported within newer protective wood surrounds for handling and storage. Found in Storage for the last 45 years . They can be shipped in a crate ..We prefer to sell as a pair but will entertain single window purchase. Bought at auction in UK in 1970's.
