This large rectangular ceramic baking dish or serving platter offers a beautifully functional slice of classic Danish stoneware design. Part of the highly collectible "Thule" or similar stoneware lines from the era, it features slightly flared handles integrated into its silhouette for easy carrying. The warm, rustic aesthetic is highlighted by a rich red-brown iron-spotted glaze along the outer rim that transitions seamlessly into a smooth cream-colored interior surface, typifying the understated artistry of the Mid-Century Modern 1970s. Crafted from heavy, durable stoneware meant to withstand kitchen use, the dish is finished with a smooth, glossy light grey-blue glaze on the exterior sides and bottom. The underside reveals an unglazed contact rim and features the distinct underglaze blue stamp of the renowned pottery manufacturer "Désirée Denmark."
