Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg for Arabia Large bowl, mid-20th century. Large bowl in white porcelain with a subtle leaf motif executed in transparent, lightly green-tinted glaze areas. The simple conical form combined with restrained decoration gives the bowl a light and elegant appearance, characteristic of Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg’s modernist porcelain designs for Arabia. Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg (1905–1993) was an Austrian-born ceramic artist who worked at Arabia in Finland from 1936. Her designs represent a sophisticated strand of Nordic modernism, uniting technical innovation with restrained and elegant form.
