About the Item

Sculpturally crafted Japanese artisan ware bowl. Organic lines float around the piece with its minimalist form. Beautiful Japanese Bizen-Yaki style pottery piece. Bizen-Yaki, which dates back hundreds of years (its heyday was in the 16th century) is recognizable by its rustic quality that were said to reflect and mirror those in the natural world. It was made in and around Bizen City city in Okayama prefecture (formerly Bizen province). Because of its technique known for its naturally hard, and rust-colored (due to the high iron content in the local clay) texture and appearance.
