About the Item

Rare 1963 Reed & Barton Paul Revere Bowl 101 with Black Enamel Interior – Designed by John Prip A scarce and collectible example of American modernist design, this 1963 Reed & Barton Paul Revere Bowl (Model 101 CA) was designed by acclaimed silversmith John Prip. What sets this piece apart is its rare black enamel interior, a finish seldom seen on this classic form and highly sought after by collectors. Crafted in silver plate, the bowl retains its iconic, clean-lined silhouette, originally inspired by the 18th-century Revere shape but reimagined with a bold modernist sensibility. The enamel interior is pristine, with no chips or flaws. The silver exterior shows natural tarnish consistent with age, which can be beautifully cleaned by the new owner if so desired. Stamped “Reed & Barton 101 CA” on the underside, this piece was produced in a very limited run, with black enamel versions being particularly elusive. A refined and sculptural object that bridges traditional form and mid-century innovation, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most visually striking and unusual variations of the Paul Revere Bowl—ideal for collectors of mid-century American silver and modernist decorative arts.
