A Spanish Polychrome Earthenware Plate, 18th Century Depiciting a hare on abstract floral ground. Provenance: Private Australian Collection. Dimensions: Height: 3cm. Diameter: 33.8cm. Note: This is a majolica plate. Maiolica pottery originated in Italy during the Renaissance, in the mid-15th century. It is known for its opaque white glaze, which is achieved by applying a layer of tin oxide before adding colored glazes.
