About the Item

Dutch 833 standard silver scent box, 1873 hallmarked. A "loderein", aka sponge box for applying perfumed water with a sponge or cotton ball kept inside. Now useful for peppermints, studs, etc. Ribbed design with engraving shield (never used). Assay location rubbed. 0.85 troy oz. Light dents. 1 7/8" x 7/8" x 1 1/8" h.
