About the Item

An 18th Century Gothic Reliquary Casket. Possibly of European origin, this ancient treasure chest has parts dating back as far as the 17th century. Painted and gilded to all sides with a series of heraldic shields and medieval kings, wrapped with ribbons of symbolism and inscriptions. Modelled after coffers of the 13th century, the golden centrepiece appears to be missing a lock.
