A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Austrian combined 1.41 carat ruby and emerald, 1.48 carat diamond and 14-karat yellow gold cigarette case; an addition to our continental collection This magnificent antique Austrian 14 karat yellow gold cigarette case has a rectangular form with rounded corners. The front cover of this antique gold case is embellished with sixteen round mixed cut rubies in a crescent formation, accented with sixty-five Dutch cut diamonds set within stemmed foliate designs. The foliate decoration is accented with a single oval mixed cut and a pear cut emerald, replicating the details of floral buds. The decoration to the cover is further ornamented with a claw set old European cut diamond to each corner, each within a star shaped setting. The sides of this cigarette case and posterior cover are plain and unembellished. The case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments and a retaining strap; the catch is accented with a collet set oval cut ruby. This magnificent gold cigarette case is supplied with two independent diamond and gemstone grading report cards. Condition: This antique gold case is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. There is some minor surface wear to the case, in keeping with age. There are losses to the pear cut and surface wear to the oval mixed cut emeralds, in keeping with age. This antique case is set with high color graded old cut diamonds. The 14 karat hallmark to the interior of this Austrian gold case is very clear.
