Striking Victorian craftsmanship with delightful figuring Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order Select oak stocks present fine grain interest and an abundance of medullary rays Sumptuous warm caramel hues throughout the tapering form Unmarked brass shield dressing the broad lid, ideal for personalisation Dressed with a brass lock escutcheon — in working order, key present Fascinating card slide calendar to the lid interior with dates for January to December 1909 Small glass inkwell sits front and centre, with a pair of dipping ink pens nesting to the side Drop front features a tooled red leather skiver to the reverse This is a superb antique desktop stationery box, with a host of charming features. Quality Arts & Crafts taste adds to the appeal. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to grace the desktop.
