About the Item

This is Faberge style rectangular patinated 925 silver metal decorative box/cigarette case. It depicts a heavy hinged box very well ornamented. The top of the lid is covered by an octagonal shaped emerald green translucent guilloche enamel in the center. Over it, the Russian Double Headed Eagle, also known as the Romanov Family Crest enhanced the box. The eagles are engraved and decorated with multiples seed pearls embedded in their feathers and two very tiny garnets like stones embedded in their eyes. Their center chest is embellished by two mounted oval faceted yellow citrine like stones. Each corner of the lid is decorated with a perfect triangle that has a repousse scrolls of branches of leaves and a tiny flower with a mounted seed pearl in the center. Also, a little bigger mounted pearls adorned the center of the upper, lower, right and left sides of the lid. Following the same decor, each one the lower sides are covered with a rectangular emerald green guilloche enamel plaque and decorated with an engraved silver bar with two mounted pearls. Inside the box, the lid is covered with red velvet fabric and the base by a gilt metal plaque with multiples squares pattern. Four gilt feet shaped as a flower of eight petals support the box. A tiny gilt metal signed Sándor or Lando is attached to front corner side. At the left, outside of the plaque is hallmarked 14k and 925.
