About the Item

Pair of French antique etched and faceted cut crystal lidded boxes with ormolu mounts, c. early 20th century. Gorgeous gilt bronze mounted boxes with intricately etched crystal of flowing floral swag and bow detail with a faceted cut starburst design on the bottom. The ornate fine bronze work is remarkable with fleur-de-lis, greek key and flower motifs. The lid is topped with a charming acanthus leaf and bud finial with filigree embellishment. In tandem with the exquisite bronze work, the use of faceted and etched techniques together give the boxes a uniqueness and create lots of visual interest. Lovely together on a vanity, in a powder room or showcased anywhere in your home for a touch of elegance. Fine appointments such as these beautiful pieces will add a sense of luxury to any space. The bronze work is marked "Made in France" on the bottom.
