About the Item

Norwegian Art Nouveau Pewter and Silver Lidded Box Set with Amber Cabochons, Norway, ca. 1900 Of rectangular form raised on four compressed bun feet, the hinged lid centred with a large oval carnelian-red amber cabochon within a repoussé silver surround of scrolling acanthus and flowerhead form, further set with six smaller round amber cabochons in tones of deep red and honey yellow, four larger matching cabochons mounted to the corners of the pewter lid. The interior lined in mahogany. Measurements: Width: 15 cm (5.9 in) Depth: 10 cm (3.9 in) Height: 5 cm (2 in) The box is in good antique condition with minor surface wear consistent with age.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
