Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1876 by George Unite this striking Victorian antique sterling silver card case is of a rectangular form with a scalloped edge and a hinged lid. The surface is decorated with extensive hand-engraving in the aesthetic taste, featuring birds in flight and perched among foliage and bamboo, with a central vacant rectangular cartouche. It measures 3.75"(9.5cm) tall by 2.5"(6.5cm) wide, and weighs 1.95 troy ounces.
