This sculptural 19th-century Chinese candle stand celebrates the wabi-sabi beauty of handmade pottery. The tiered candlestick is chunky and bold, shaped of earthenware with curving lines and and charming asymmetry. A thick black glaze drips down the sides, matte to the touch with pitted texture and subtle iridescence. Minor losses to glaze. Repairs to one break to central column.
