About the Item

An elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and patinated Bronze candelabra. This charming candelabra is modeled after Claude Michel Clodion while being raised on a square Ormolu base with concave corners below a berried laurel band and fluted column. Above is a patinated Bronze statue of a charming young Bacchus standing proudly while wearing a draped sash tied around his shoulder and attached to his tambourine. He holds two spiral fluted cornucopias with candle cups decorated by grape clusters and vines. All original gilt and patina throughout. *The candle cups can be electrified as shown in the detailed image.
