About the Item

Sculptural Scandinavian Modern candleholder dating from the 1960s, crafted from richly figured East Indian rosewood with a brass candle socket. The design combines a substantial square base with a slender, gently flared stem and a rounded candle cup, creating a striking architectural silhouette. The contrast between the angular base and smoothly turned upper section reflects the refined simplicity associated with mid-century Scandinavian design. The underside retains its original labels, including one reading “Ostindisch Palisander,” confirming the use of East Indian rosewood. The candle socket shows a naturally aged brass patina.
