About the Item

Designed by Toni Cordero and produced by Del Campo in the 1990s, this candlestick exemplifies the designer's ability to transform a functional object into a refined sculptural presence. The slender metal structure is entirely finished in high-fired enamel, creating a continuous chromatic surface that shifts through deep shades of blue, green, violet and red. The vibrant enamel, applied using traditional high-fire techniques, gives the surface remarkable depth and luminosity, while subtle variations in tone reveal the handcrafted nature of the process. Rising from a circular enamelled base, the elongated silhouette is reduced to its essential geometry, allowing colour and proportion to define the object's character. Balancing artistic research with exceptional craftsmanship, the candlestick reflects Cordero's ongoing exploration of enamel as both a decorative and architectural material, resulting in a piece that functions equally as a utilitarian object and as a sculptural work.
