This striking antique French Black Forest–style barometer thermometer was crafted in France circa 1880 from richly carved solid walnut. Designed as a vertical wall-mounted piece, the instrument showcases exuberant naturalistic carving characteristic of the Black Forest tradition, including finely detailed game birds, acorns, oak leaves, scrolling foliage, and a carved dog’s head crest at the top.
