About the Item

An American Art Deco boudoir or desk clock, dating to approximately 1930. This unsigned clock features a cast bronze case with a strong geometric, diamond-form silhouette characteristic of the period. The case is detailed with a lower embossed panel of flowers, finished with a contrasting green patina. It rests on a stepped black base. The octagonal dial is set behind a beveled glass crystal and features a pearlescent celluloid face, bold Art Deco Arabic numerals, and blued steel hands. The dial is marked "MADE IN U.S.A." at the six o'clock position. The combination of geometric form, mixed metals, and period materials makes this a quintessential example of Art Deco design.
