About the Item

Danese Milano Kuno prey concrete clock. Italy, 1986. This is a very rare post-modern concrete clock designed by Kuno Prey for the Milanese company Danese. A very distinct and modern design which is remarkably timeless. It was designed in 1986 and represents various aspects of post-modern design and resembles works by the Memphis movement due to its naive appearance and honest construction. It was nominated for a 'Compasso d'Oro' in 1987. It is both raw and sophisticated at the same time with a very simple form factor but a natural use of material. The concrete is most likely cast in a mold and shows imperfections. Every clock Danese made is therefore different and unique. It is both a wall clock and a table clock. A battery powered clockwork is to be found at the back. A real gem and not easy to find.
