About the Item

Beautiful clock in walnut root, enriched with maple fillets and with an ebonized wooden base. The decoration of the clock features gilded bronze friezes, inspired by classical elements such as the head of Medusa and the harp, together with refined vegetal decorations that enhance its design. This piece is equipped with four windings and a spring-loaded chime, capable of signaling the quarters, half hours and hours, as well as an alarm function. The dial is in Arabic numerals. It is a piece of great elegance and class, capable of enriching any environment with refined taste. Coming from the Viennese manufacture, as indicated by the signature "Peter Rau in Wien," the clock dates back to the Empire period, around the first decades of the 19th century (around 1820).
