Stunning clock for the collectors of rare and truly stylish Gothic antiques. Gothic wall clocks are a rare find and this quality carved specimen, in our view, has the perfect size and design to use and enjoy in any Gothic (inspired) interior. All hand-crafted & hand-carved in the Arts and Crafts this work of religious art wall clock is elaborate in a unique manner. This Gothic antique is both unique in its combination of quality materials and also in the fantastic carvings that were hand created to express the deeper meaning. If you look closely then you will see an abundance of Gothic trefoils representing the trinity. In the top of this handcarved work of beauty are a pair of butterflies and they -among other things- are Christian symbols of the resurrection. The stunning oak that was used to create this antique has grown a patina that truly is second to none. Not only does this antique clock has an abundance of hand-carved Gothic elements, they also are extremely detailed. What also makes this tall clock very attractive and desirable are the holy light / sun rays behind the stunning bronze pendulum and the perfect red copper dial face with the hand engraved and blackened numerals. Have you also noticed the unique bird's head dials on this clock? With doors that open and close easily on either side and with a removable clock mechanism, it also is easy to make any adjustments to the mechanism (if necessary). With gilt metalware inside this clock, the maker (who left his initials in there too) made a statement about the quality and richness of this piece that cannot be misunderstood. This clock runs very smoothly with a low-noise tic-toc and it strikes a warm gong sound on the whole and once on the half hours. Finally, the key for winding both the clock and striking mechanism is included as well.
