About the Item

Kerr set of 4 sterling silver blotter corners, from the late 19th or early 20th century, beautifully adorned with putti, cartouche, and stylized curvilinear motifs. They measure 4 1/2'' by 4 1/2'' by 6'' from one corner to the other and bear hallmarks as shown. Kerr, a New Jersey-based silversmith founded in the 1880s, was a silversmith known for its Art Nouveau jewelry, vanity items, and holloware. In 1927, Gorham purchased the brand. Their work is present in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Please feel free to ask us any questions, and please see our other listings. We hand polish all items before shipping them out, but if there is interest for a professional polishing and/or engraving removal, we can take care of that for an additional charge and with delayed shipping.
