An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver galleried double inkstand; an addition to our ornamental office silverware collection This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver inkstand has a rectangular form. This impressive inkstand is fitted with a hallmarked exceptional pierced decorated gallery, embellished with impressive quatrefoil motifs spanning each of the four panels. The body of the sterling silver inkstand is ornamented with an undulating border to the rim. This antique 20th century silver inkstand is supported by four impressive, decorative cast and applied feet featuring scrolling and festoon ornamentation. The galleried double inkstand features two exceptional pyramid-shaped inkwell vessels. Each vessel retains its original blue glass liner, surrounded by a pierced decorated outer casing, featuring quatrefoil decoration to complement the exceptional gallery. The fine and impressive inkwell vessels are also fitted with hinged hallmarked covers, which feature protruding semi circular thumb pieces. Condition This antique galleried double inkstand is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The impressive 20th century silver inkstand has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The exceptional pierced decoration is sharp. The hallmarks deeply struck to the interior of the bottle covers and to the underside of the base are very clear. The internal frame of the Stand is divided into different sized compartments by pierced decorated dividers reflecting the same design to that of the body. The original hallmarked base has a sliding action which allows it to be removed for cleaning purposes. This antique sterling silver inkstand is supported by four impressive claw and ball feet. The two smaller internal compartments retain the original square glass ink bottles with chamfered edges. This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian silver inkstand / desk standish, has a rectangular shaped form. This Victorian inkstand is plain and embellished with an applied moulded border to the rim. The surface of this exceptional example of antique silverware incorporates two elongated oval recesses, composing pen wells. This antique hallmarked silver inkstand is supported by four impressive cast bracket style feet embellished with scroll and leaf decoration. The body of the inkstand incorporates two circular ink bottle receivers protruding from either side and conjoined with a central rectangular stamp box via two impressive elevated scrolling leaf decorated brackets. The impressive large glass ink bottles each have a compressive spherical form, ornamented with cut glass decoration. The lower portion of each bottle is fitted with a hallmarked sterling silver mount/foot, accented with a screwfit attachment, allowing the piece to stand securely in situ; this fitment is a fine feature and indicates the high quality of the piece. This inkstand is encompassed with an applied thread decorated border, in addition to the contemporary engraved initials 'WW'. The rim of the body of the sterling silver inkstand is ornamented with a paralleling applied reed decorated border. The internal wirework style frame of the stand is divided into three rounded supports. Each internal compartment retains the original rounded glass bottles with cut glass ornamentation in addition to impressive scalloped bases. The ink, pen/quill and pounce bottles retain the original plain silver cylindrical mounts fitted with push fit hallmarked covers.
