About the Item

A Viennese Austrian art deco desk inkwell. This is a beautiful desk inkwell created in Vienna Austria during the art deco period, between the 1918 and 1922. This Viennese inkwell was carefully crafted in a squared shape, with parts made up in solid .800/.999 silver with high polished finish and solid translucent hand-cut crystal. Fitted on top with a collar, a bombe hinged lid and a removable little glass vase-recipient for the ink (slightly chip but absolutely don't detract.). This is a very elegant and decorative piece with strong art-deco patterns. Country: Vienna, Austria. Period: Art Deco, circa 1918-1922. Weight: About 2 pounds, (0.91 Kg.). Measurements: 152.4 mm by 152.4 mm by 120.6 mm (6 x 6 x 4.75 Inches). Hallmarks: Both silver parts are stamped with Austrian marks for the period of 1872-1922, the mark of an A for the city of Vienna, the number 3 for the assay and warranty of the .800/.999 silver, and the maker's mark FH inside a floriated cartouche. Condition: The overall condition of this Austrian art-deco desk inkwell is very good to excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver and all parts are secured in the settings. This piece was carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
