Constructed from precisely cast and polished acrylic panels arranged in a gridded framework, the cube encloses a constellation of suspended metallic spheres whose mirrored surfaces multiply and refract their surroundings. The internal vertical supports and measured spacing of each element generate shifting optical relationships, activating the volume as light penetrates and ricochets across planes and curves. Born in Buenos Aires in 1925 and later active in Paris, Boto was a co-founder of the Grupo de Artistas No Figurativos de la Argentina and a key figure in the development of kinetic and programmed art. Her practice consistently investigated movement, seriality, and the dematerialization of form through industrial materials. Here, the dialogue between transparent structure and polished metal encapsulates her commitment to systematic composition and perceptual dynamism, resulting in a work that is both architectonic and visually fluid.
