About the Item

Anthropomorphic bronze by Sebastiano Fini (1949-2003) 25 cm high. He lived in Milan until 1978, then went and worked in France and Spain. In the middle of his career (1981-1985), he isolates himself on the island of Panarea where he discovers “a vision which mixes his artistic universe and his human universe”. Much more than a journey out of time, for him it is a “journey inside the human being”, which will mark his life and his work forever. On his return to the world, he settled in Mogliano Veneto (Treviso) for 4 years, and then divided his work between Pietrasante (Lucca), Los Angeles and Marseilles where his trip will end on January 20, 2003. Sebastiano Fini will have devoted most of his art to women, torn between Freedom, Nature and the simple human condition. These women of aluminum prisoners of metal, symbol of a stereotyped society or even these anthropomorphic rocks bear witness to this long search for identity. Eternal dissatisfied, he will alternately work marble, bronze, aluminum, expressing himself with oil painting, music or even photography. He left behind a rich, multi-media work, which can be found today in museums in the New World (Weber Gallery, New York & Chicago) as well as in numerous corporate collections (Benetton, Lavazza, Alumix, Nordica , Cano…) note that he also exhibited in 1990 at the Metropolitan Museum of New York will express himself with oil painting, music or even photography.
