About the Item

Clay is the name of the collection designed by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin. The name is now highly associated with the project. The designers drew inspiration from sculptures created by Aldo Londi in the 1980s and used a material‑based research approach as a pivotal element of the new project. The process reigns supreme, with the lathe shaping the form to a new thickness. Cylinder vases and disc bowl are engraved from the top vertically, producing sections that are then “torn” by hand, creating each element with uniqueness. Colors alternate in eight options between matte white marble and several pastel hues. The project was initially presented in 2018.
