About the Item

"Bubble ring " - Unique piece, 2017 glazed earthenware A Ring Thing collection A small chair, a miniature moon, a Philipp Stark's squeezer or the anatomical details of Michelangelo’s David: you can wear them at your finger. Or you can consider them just as sculptures. Wear them on the red carpet or just look at them elegantly displayed on the mantelpiece. Or maybe give it another semantic twist: wear the sculptures and stare at your jewels like a work of art you will never wear. Enjoy these witty hybrids at the border of art and design with a good dose of genuine self-mockery. Andrea Salvatori (Italy, 1975) is a visual artist working in ceramics to realise ironic and witty sculptures, sometimes involving a diverse selection of found objects, such as Murano glass vases, Meissen porcelain miniatures or Ginori period ceramics sourced in flea markets around Europe. Salvatori’s works often begin with these items and add an element created by the artist, generating an unexpected semantic shift. The result is unique, encompassing pop culture and kitsch aesthetics: a witty and effective way to turn reality upside-down and at the same time a powerful combination of exquisite craftsmanship and genuine irony.

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970

By Giacomo Onestini

Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant

Beautiful ceramic sculpture designed by Giacomo Onestini made in his own atelier in Italy in 1970. It has a combination of matte and shiny glazed surfaces. The back and sides of the sculpture have a textured surface with shades of gray, green, and sometimes turquoise. On the front, there's a carved-out section that's smooth and glazed with red and gold hues. It's a very appealing and intriguing piece. You can find the artist's signature, "Onestini," on the side of the sculpture. This piece was created in the artist's personal studio. Very nice large sized, heavy piece and in excellent condition. After graduating as a master ceramist, Onestini moved to San Marino where he found employment at the "Marmaca" ceramics factory. Around the end of the 1950s, he moved to Salerno and began working with the "Ernestine...
