Generation 01 by Eguzkiñe Egaña Unique Dimensions: W 23 x L 16.5 x H 30 cm Materials: Black stoneware, slip and rope In this series of pieces, called 13 generations, Eguzkiñe connects with an imaginary world from his previous thirteen generations, where he speculates on those past lives, imagining them as lives dedicated to the artisanal creation of everyday objects. With the clear intention of recovering our roots and especially the value of craftsmanship, the artist enters it understanding it as a slow and thoughtful process, in which a job well done and conscientiously prevails. The rope is used as a binding link. Unique piece. Eguzkiñe Egaña Corta is a Basque artist and maker working at the intersection of ceramics, iron, cement, and wood. Her practice centres on the tension between materials: hand-shaped clay against rusted iron, organic warmth against industrial rawness, as a language for exploring the complexity of human relationships. Born and based in Zarautz, she spent twenty years working as a graphic designer and art director before deepening her commitment to making. That shift was not a departure but a natural evolution, a move from designing surfaces to building objects that occupy space, carry weight, and resist easy resolution. She holds a Master's degree in Ceramics: Art and Function from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country. Her work explores the complexity of human relationships, with others and, above all, with oneself. At its core lies a deeper inquiry: the belief systems that structure our lives, often unexamined, that shape every thought and action. Much of what we do, she suggests, comes from fear rather than love. Her practice, both artistic and deeply personal, is an ongoing act of attention: bringing consciousness to those patterns, and choosing, where possible, to think and act from love. Her work has been exhibited individually and collectively, and is available through Galerie Philia. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable.
