Rare form original Pablo Picasso Femme sculptural vase or ewer for Madoura Ceramics. Documented model number A.R. 297 hand sculpted and hand painted in the Madoura factory. A timless example of Pablo Picasso's artistic interpretation of a female form manifesting in an elegant vessel. Pablo Picasso 1881 - 1973 Model Femme (Alain Ramié 297) with the D'Apres Picasso, Edition Picasso and Madoura stamps terre de faience pitcher, painted in colors height: 11.5 in. 290 mm. Executed in 1955; this work is from the edition of 100. Original unique ceramic pitcher vase in the form of a female figure by Pablo Picasso "Femme". Picasso's association with the Madoura Studio was for over 25 years, making it one of the longest and most fruitful collaborations of his career. Picasso was able to transform simple clay into master works of art, creating imaginative and expressive artworks all made from clay. Picasso's ceramic works at Madoura are characterized by their vibrant colors, whimsical motifs, and playful forms. Pablo Picasso femme sculptural vase is a fine example of his ceramic art. A merging of the organic clay along with Picasso's artistic vision to create a fantastic object d'arte. This Picasso femme sculpture is an original and limited edition ceramic pitcher, made of cream color clay, partially glazed and hand painted in black, blue and blond. Catalogue Raisonné: Alain Ramie 297 Signature: Stamped on Underside Provenance: Galerie Les Tourettes Paris, Otto Wertheimer, Dr. Anne Wertheimer This work was purchased from the very prestigious Galerie Les Tourettes in Paris and was in the collection of art historian Dr. Otto Wertheimer, whose provenanced pieces are in the Smithsonian Institution and Getty Museums. Certificate of authenticity issued by art expert Mr. Andre Frey of Artinic based in Zurich, Switzerland. Andre Frey has been an art expert and advisor to Aristotle Onasis and The White House. Includes certificate of authenticity. Created in 1955, this Madoura ceramic femme pitcher of cream colored earthenware clay terre de faïence is inscribed D'Apres Picasso with the 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' pottery stamp on the underside; from the edition of 100.
