About the Item

This striking abstract figure is an excellent example of Zsolnay’s post-war modernist output and is especially notable for its rich red eosin glaze, a far less common finish than the more familiar green-gold iridescence. The deep ruby metallic tones shift subtly in the light, giving the piece a strong sculptural presence. Unlike the smaller versions encountered on the market, this is a substantial example, measuring 9 inches wide and 7.5 inches high, lending it far greater visual impact and collectability. The piece remains in very good condition and retains its Zsolnay factory mark on the base, confirming its authenticity. The flowing, pierced abstract form reflects the influence of mid-century biomorphism and the broader sculptural style explored by Henry Moore.. Designer Note János Török (1932–1996) joined the Zsolnay Factory in Pécs in 1956 and soon became one of its most influential mid-century designers. From the late 1950s onward, he created a signature series of modernist figurines. His works remain instantly recognisable and are highly sought after by collectors of European modernist ceramics.

Mid 20th Century Silver Red Enamel Bowl Spain Circa 1960

Presenting a captivating mid 20th-century Spanish Silver and Enamel Bowl, dating back to circa 1960. The stunning red enamel, complemented by translucent enamel cabochons, enhances the beauty of this piece. The inner section of enamel is on copper and certain examples I have seen before have been multi coloured but this simpler design works well. Its simple design comes to life when displayed under lighting...

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970

By Giacomo Onestini

Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant

Beautiful ceramic sculpture designed by Giacomo Onestini made in his own atelier in Italy in 1970. It has a combination of matte and shiny glazed surfaces. The back and sides of the sculpture have a textured surface with shades of gray, green, and sometimes turquoise. On the front, there's a carved-out section that's smooth and glazed with red and gold hues. It's a very appealing and intriguing piece. You can find the artist's signature, "Onestini," on the side of the sculpture. This piece was created in the artist's personal studio. Very nice large sized, heavy piece and in excellent condition. After graduating as a master ceramist, Onestini moved to San Marino where he found employment at the "Marmaca" ceramics factory. Around the end of the 1950s, he moved to Salerno and began working with the "Ernestine...
