About the Item

Useless Sculpture in Ceramic by Liliana Silva. Signed by Liliana Silva. Dimensions: W 23 x D 23 x H 44 cm. Materials: Ceramic. “Useless” inspired by the “Dadaism” trend, challenges conventional utility with absurd and provocative forms, celebrating poetic nonsense. Handcrafted in Portugal, this piece reflects creative freedom and intentional irregularities. This piece is available in a wide range of hand-painted finishes from the artist's signature palette. Please contact us to explore the full selection of available colors. All the pieces are made and painted by hand, they are unique and unrepeatable. There may be slight variations, with the photographs being as close to reality as possible, as colors may vary slightly from one piece to another. All pieces are signed and numbered by the ceramic artist "Liliana Silva", and are accompanied by a ''Certificate of Authenticity''. The future of the past My work born from a memory of my grandfather and my dad, of the days spent in my grandfather old factory in the city of Barcelos, where many people worked, and the production was still very artisanal, the wheels 'of the rodistas' were manual and all the kiln were wood fired. The transmission of values and knowledge of the entire of the process , combined with nostalgia for the past, gives rise to the desire to give new life to what is part of my past, but a new modern and contemporary 'outfit'. So i'm back to my roots that gives me all the freedom to fly. About "I am Liliana Silva, a Portuguese designer focused on creating contemporary pieces that combine simplicity, elegance, and authenticity. My work is guided by a minimalist aesthetic and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, exploring high-quality materials and artisanal techniques through a modern lens. Each piece is carefully developed with great attention to detail, aiming to express identity, functionality, and a sense of timelessness."
