About the Item

Ivo De Santis (Florence, 1934 – ) is an Italian ceramicist and sculptor, active mainly between the 1950s and 1980s. His works, primarily created in glazed ceramic, embody the refined aesthetic of the Italian Mid-Century Modern movement, distinguished by elegant lines and dynamic forms. In Florence, he founded his own workshop, “Gli Etruschi” (Ceramiche Artistiche Gli Etruschi), where he produced most of his signed pieces. His favorite subjects include human figures, groups, animals, as well as decorative vases and amphorae. International recognition: De Santis achieved notable success abroad, with much of his production exported to the United States. As a result, his works are now rare and relatively unknown on the Italian art market.
