About the Item

An impressive Italian sculptural eagle by Santini, masterfully modeled with outstretched wings as the bird descends toward a rocky outcrop. Richly detailed feathering, expressive facial features, and sharply defined talons give the composition remarkable movement and realism. #5525 Executed in Santini's signature bonded alabaster composition and mounted on a substantial polished black marble plinth, the contrasting materials create an elegant presentation suitable for an executive office, library, or refined contemporary interior. Signed "Santini" in the sculpture with the original Made in Italy label retained on the underside. A striking decorative statement that embodies the strength and majesty of the American eagle while showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship associated with the Santini workshops. Circa: 1970s Materials: Bonded alabaster (marble dust and resin composite), black marble. Dimensions: 18"Wx 10"D x 13.5"H Condition: Very good vintage condition. Light age-appropriate wear consistent with display. Marble base retains its original polish with minor surface wear. Original Santini signature and original Made in Italy label present. No significant chips or repairs observed from the photographs. About Santini Amilcare Santini (1910–1975) was an Italian sculptor whose workshop became internationally recognized for finely detailed classical and wildlife sculptures produced in bonded marble and alabaster compositions. His works, manufactured in Tuscany and exported worldwide throughout the 1960s–1980s, remain highly collectible for their craftsmanship, sculptural quality, and timeless decorative appeal.
