About the Item

In this listing you will find a stunning Antique Art Nouveau stove done in cast iron and blue enamel. These stoves were designed to be both functional heat sources and decorative centerpieces for the main living areas of Victorian-era homes. The intricate relief patterns and scrollwork on the door and body are typical of "High Victorian" style, which often mimicked Gothic, Neoclassical, or Rococo architecture. Made in Yugoslavia, with the tag of the manufacturer on the plate attached at the base of the stove. The stove is in distressed condition, with rust and chips on enamel. It is, however, fully sturdy, making it a great sculpture! When purchased the stove will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport.
