About the Item

This antique whimsical cast bronze figural bell is unsigned and has no foundry mark, but is presumed to originate from the United States and date to approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. This detailed cast bell depicts an upset woman with her hands on her hips and holding a wooden spoon in one hand. An interesting detail is that the clappers are cast sculptural shoed feet and legs. The bell has a thick casting and rings with a muted tone and functions as intended.
