About the Item

A small-sized, articulated painter's mannequin with a metaphysical face. The mannequin is crafted from carved alder wood. It features a combination of various types of joints, ranging from spheres to pinned hinge joints at the knees and elbows, and more complex shoulder articulations consisting of pairs of metal plates and spheres. It is mounted on a brass support with a cubic base, also made of fir wood, with a black lacquered finish. France, circa 1920.
