About the Item

A beautiful and rare pair of large temple lion statues, better known as foo dogs or guardian dogs. These beautiful Chinese statues date from around the mid-20th century and are expertly crafted from blue-glazed porcelain. They are numbered 201 on the bottom. These beautiful statues of seated, static foo dogs are highly collectible and come in various sizes, shapes, and colors. They always appear in pairs and are mirror images of each other. One foo dog has its paw on a ball, while the other is restraining a small foo dog cub. Both statues are in very good condition, with only minimal signs of age and use. One statue has a tiny chip (1mm) from the glaze on a corner of the base at the back. This is barely noticeable. Check the photos for more details! Dimensions: 18x14x25cm each.
